Mapping the Sikundur research area

Meanwhile in Sikundur last week Chris Marsh and Nikki had Graham and Dave from Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP) helping them to learn a bit more about how to fly a drone. This is very much in support of all the Sikundur projects, including the People's Trust for Endangered Species funded Sumatran elephant project. In between flying the drone, Nicola was checking dung decay rates as one of the more glamorous components of her job 😀 So here are some of the photos they sent us. Including the 'drooping-broccoli' rough 3D image of forest versus plantations. We thank Bournemouth University for funding the work.
