Sumatran research evidence of support from local researchers & organisations
LEAP's work in Sumatra
LEAP's work in Sumatra is not possible without the considerable support and interest of our local collaborators: Sikundur work counterpart Dr Nursahara from Universitas Sumatera Utara, elephant work counterpart Dr Abdullah from Universitas Syiah Kuala, Rudi Putra from the FKL and HAkA, and the many people at the YEL-SOCP-PanEco consortium which runs the Sikundur field site (incl. Gunung Gea, Ian Singleton, Matt Nowak, Graham Usher, Gabriella Frederiksson).
Please find here a link to a folder containing letters of support for the various projects we do in Sumatra, mostly written to obtain permits or funding.
There is also a copy of our memorandum of understanding with the Syiah Kuala University in Aceh.
