PhD Student
I'm currently doing my PhD at Bournemouth University, investigating human impacts on micro-climate and parasite loads on primates in Sumatra, Indonesia. I have always had a keen interest in wildlife conservation, and hope that my research will help to improve conservation measures for threatened primates in Indonesia.
I first started working with LEAP as an MRes student based at Bournemouth University, conducting research on the Thomas’ langur monkey and how forest structure determines their distribution in North Sumatra. I have also volunteered with the Marine Turtle Conservation Project in North Cyprus, monitoring nesting beaches of sea turtles, and I have worked on a mitigation project in the UK, trans-locating great crested newts (an EU protected species) from an area of proposed development, and monitoring the population of other ecologically important species, including bats and reptiles.

Conservation Biology, Ecology, Anthropology, Human Evolution, and Primatology
Interests and Hobbies Outside Science:
I enjoy keeping fit and active, especially by going for long walks with my pet dog, Alfie. I’m also a massive animal geek, and regularly drag my family and friends on trips to the zoo and our local primate sanctuary, Monkey World!
