Following on from an unconventional background in Art & Creative writing I travelled to South America to work for an animal sanctuary NGO for 3 years where I came to realised the realities of primate conservations and so upon returning to the UK, completed an MSc in Primate Conservation at Oxford Brookes University. My thesis looked at three species of neotropical primate and how these were affected by forest degradation. Findings showed that the tree-climbing, fruit-eating spider monkeys were sensitive to the loss of large trees, whilst other species that are not so 'specialised' were able to adapt to new conditions. Since then I've worked for the Little Fireface Project with the charming Javan Slow Loris.
