January starters with LEAP

This January, Nicola Collins is starting her MRes degree with us. She will investigate the elephant population at Sikundur. This will link with our ongoing elephant research with Dr Abdullah and Rudi Putra on the critically endangered Sumatran elephant. Meryl Thomas (doing her MSc at UCL) is also going to hopefully join the elephant project for her research project. She wants to look at human elephant interactions and the increasing conflicts we are seeing, especially in Aceh.
