Leaping elephants project funding
We are extremely pleased to say that we have received funding from the Rufford Small Grants, £5000, to do an elephant population size survey and investigate human-elephant co-existence in the Leuser Ecosystem in Sumatra, Indonesia.
We have also received funding from the International Elephant Foundation, >$70000, for a study on elephant rangin behaviour in relation to forest structure and further research on human-elephant co-existence.
This means that Dr Gaius Wilson can now start this postdoctoral research project about a year after we first started discussing research together. We are very excited about this project and are extremely grateful to our generous funders
